CHAINSAW TRAINING

April 21, 2018 @ FUMC-Kaufman

CHAIN SAW .... An extensive chain saw training is happening this Saturday, April 21st @ FUMC-Kaufman.  There will be classroom in the morning, a good lunch, and actual chain saw cutting at the farmland of an ERT team member near Kaufman.  This will be a valuable "on site" training.

ERT BASIC/RECERTIFICATION TRAININGS

May 12, 2018 @ FUMC-Kaufman

ERT BASIC/RECERTIFICATION TRAININGS, May 12th @ FUMC-Kaufman.  This is a perfect opportunity to "re-certify" so that you will be able to respond to disasters in this area in the future.  Please don't wait until a disaster happens and then discover that your badge has expired.

It is important that we train new members and re-certify those who need re-certification for both Chain Saw and Basic ERT.  Your help in spreading the word will make us a stronger ERT unit going forward.

If you have any questions, contact Bobby Aga at 214-549-6890 or  972-962-8939

KAUFMAN COUNTY CONNECTION

KAUFMAN, COLLEGE MOUND, TERRELL, ALEY

Four years ago, the Kaufman County connection was formed to meet the need of having enough members to respond to Disasters at any given time by joining together to work together when a disaster occurred. Time has passed, and we have responded to Rowlett, Van, Canton, Louisiana, and Harvey in South Texas.

There have been small areas in Kaufman County where there were trees down on roofs, creek flooding, and some burned out homes. We have done well, but as time passes many of us are feeling the burden of age and no one to carry on this task in our Churches. We have met and decided to re-work our format so that our Churches remain strong in helping others when a disaster occurs.

We will be offering quarterly training events from Chainsaw, to flood, to debris removal to rebuilding. Our talents will be available to share with our Churches to meet needs like tree trimming, painting, and minor repairs which ERT and UMVIM can provide.

Will you help me to pass the word about ERT to get new members to join in this amazing mission.
